Our Story
Why a Tick Kit?
After some scary experiences with ticks, including trying to remove one from Isabell with a credit card and a knife, we decided there had to be a better way. If we wanted to continue random adventures through the forest with our Swiss Mountain Dog Kenya, we need to be better prepared. We spent countless hours researching tick removal and care and ordered several different types of tick removal tools to try. We found the stainless steel tools work the best, so we built our first tick kit around them. We added medical supplies and a magnifying glass and soon our Tick Safety Kit was born.
Our Little Project
The Tick Safety Kit was never meant to be a business. But with tick bite cases skyrocketing in Southern Ontario where we live, we decided our family and close friends should have the same piece of mind we have when carrying our Tick Safety Kit into the woods. So we set about to build the highest quality, best tick care kit we could... a tick kit we are proud to give to our own loved ones.
This is the same Tick Safety Kit we sell today to tick aware nature lovers and pet owners across Canada and the United States. Designed and assembled by our family here in Canada. The Tick Safety Kit has everything you need to be prepared for a tick encounter, including the knowledge and confidence of being prepared.
Our Little Friends
Besides our Swissy Kenya, this summer we adopted a nosy little Juliana piglet named Stanley. When Stanley isn't curled up under a blanket beside you, he likes to forage around the property for tasty plants and grass. Stanley's grazing area is surrounded by bushes, tall grass and lots of leaf litter.... prime tick territory, and we've spotted ticks only yards from the house. We always try to check Stanley thoroughly for ticks when he comes in and always keep a Tick Safety Kit nearby.
